In honor of his 100th birthday, the Fort Wayne History Center is celebrating Bill Blass, an American fashion icon and WWII Ghost Army soldier.  Born in Fort Wayne on June 22, 1922 and a class of 1940 South Side High School graduate, Blass is best known for being one of the premier American fashion designers of the 20th century. This exhibition illustrates Blass’ multifaceted life, containing sections dedicated to his upbringing in Fort Wayne, role in the Ghost Army, and success as a master of design and marketing. We are pleased to share his story with his hometown, guest curated by Jenna Gilley, Fort Wayne Museum of Art Associate Curator of Exhibitions.  Be sure to view the other segment of this two-part exhibition, located at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art June 22 – September 18, 2022, which focuses on his impressive 50-year career in the fashion industry that exemplifies in many ways the American Dream.

Regular museum admission and hours apply.
