Suburbanization brought many changes to downtown Fort Wayne and with it both decline and renewal. This lecture will provide the history of how a need in the local arts and culture sector produced a bold vision for a cultural district through an internationally revered architect, and a one-of-a-kind performing arts center. Spanning 68 years of work, this presentation will look at the visionary history that began in the 1950’s and how it continues to impact the arts and culture sector in NE Indiana today.
