The American Association of University Women of Fort Wayne completed this quilt as a bicentennial project for Fort Wayne's bicentennial celebration in 1994. It represents the accomplishments of 30 women in local history. Women featured on the quilt include Helene Foellinger- owner of Fort Wayne Newspapers, Inc and publisher of News-Sentinel, Gertrude Muller- inventor, designer and owner of the Toidey Co., Inc. which made safety products for children like toilet and car seats, Tecumwa- Miami tribe leader, sister to Chief Little Turtle and mother to Jean Baptiste Richardville, and Dorothy Gardner- one of Indiana's first female deputies and the first female State Senator from Allen County (1947-57).
