The Allen County - Fort Wayne Historical Society's artifact collection includes over 100 swords ranging from ceremonial fraternal organizations to U. S. naval officers. Though a seemingly simple and utilitarian object, the design and detail on each of the swords varies greatly. The sword collection was recently inventoried and photographed by a volunteer for the collections department and featured on our blog. Here is a sampling of some of the more unique pieces in our collection.
