Title:
Achduth Vesholom Commemorative Glass
Description:
The roots of the Achduth Vesholom Congregation began in 1848, making it the oldest Jewish Synagogue in Indiana. Originally an Orthodox German congregation, all minutes of meetings were recorded in German for thirty years. Since its founding, the congregation has resided in four different synagogues. The current building on Old Mill Road was dedicated in 1961 and is an excellent example of mid century architectural style. This commemorative glass from the event is etched with a beautiful line drawing of the synagogue.
