George Washington Sword
Description:
George Washington Sword
Historical accounts describe how two swords were given to Chief Little Turtle, one in 1796 from President George Washington during a diplomatic visit to Philadelphia, and another from the Revolutionary War general Thaddeus Kosciusko during a second visit to the capital with William Wells in 1797.
This iron bladed sword has a wood grip with indentions from a cord, a brass pommel and heart shaped guard. Records indicate this was probably the sword Chief Little Turtle received from George Washington.
