Dress, 1910-1912
Woman's two piece dress of black peau de soie. Bodice has high, square, collarless neckline, and hooks down the back; lined in white cotton; front is designed with two strips of matching fabric appliquéd from left shoulder diagonally to left waist where they join and are finished with a rosette; sleeves are elbow length, trimmed with fringed silk tape, and are cut in one with the bodice, with a gusset at underarm. Skirt is ankle length, flaring slightly, and trimmed with fringe which runs almost spirally around the skirt from the left hip downward across the back and then to the front. Label, "Zichendraht, W.A. McNaughton Co., Muncie, Indiana."
Hat, Early 1900s
Wide brimmed woman's hat constructed over a stiff buckram frame; crown covered in pale pink peau de soie; outer edge of brim finished with black straw braid; top of brim covered with coarse cotton net with a black border and a floral design imprinted in brown on an ivory background; crown is ringed with small roses made from bright pink and beige satin, and green cloth leaves; center front ornamented with a high cluster of silk flowers in deep pink and purple; underside of crown lined with pink peau; labeled, "Mrs. Geo. C. Todd, Millinery, Danville, Ill."
Shoes, c. 1880-1920
Pair of shiny, black leather woman's shoes with high heels, pointed toes, low vamps laced with black silk woven ties. Low cut at ankle. Inside of right shoe "Simon Shoe Co."
